add the ability to print grade summaries for each student
It's nice the teacher can print the class grades for each test or term, but wouldn't it be nice to have a print out for each student? It's like an automatic progress report for each kid! There should be room for teacher's to write a comment into each student report.

Add art and video galleries to showcase student work to the school community
A digital media content management system that enables teachers to easily set up customizable galleries would be a great way to build community around student creativity.

add an All-School Calendar that feeds class calendars
For users inside a school domain, it would be helpful to have a centralized 'all-school' calendar which could provide events to all teachers inside a particular school/organization.

print class grade charts
At the end of term, I have to submit paperwork with all my grades on them. We should be able to print a chart of the whole class with all the assignments and grades for the whole or by grading period.

Post events to multiple classes at once
Roster Sections are great, but it would still be helpful to post to multiple classes at once when adding an assignment, announcement, or calendar entry.

add Student-created Webpages
Each student in a class gets a section of webpages to manage in the same manner that teachers manage their sites. These sections are linked to from the classroom website. Teachers will have the option to approve these pages before they are published or let the students publish their own pages.

WikiProjects have been released as of the beginning of August, and the ability to publish them publicly (showcase) is coming soon!

Add ability to see all work in the class for a student
When clicking on a student in the roster, it would be nice to see a summary of all work they have completed for that particular class and be able to access that work for viewing or download.

This could also include the ability for students to check off assignments they have completed (whether in the dropbox or not)

Gradebook View Options
Currently grades are available for students and parents. Not all schools choose to give parents daily access. Please allow for options: student view only or parent/student.

We’re interested in knowing what content you want parents to have access to in your specific classes, and what content you want them to not see. Leave a comment to let us know.

in assignments give the ability to block the submission of late assignments.
This would option would prevent students from submitting late assignments. However, it would give the teacher the option of allowing the student to submit late assignments.

Allow teachers to show and hide Assignments & Discussions
Teachers should be able to create Assignments & Discussions in advance and choose dates for them to be published and unpublished. A lot of teachers want to create all of their class work at the beginning of a term but don't want student's looking ahead.

View and Publish Gradebook Subtotals for each Category
Some teachers would like to see how students are performing in each category, to get a Homework average, a Quiz average, a Test average.

Add iCal / Google Calendar support to class calendars.
Many of us have set up Google class calendars and calendars to track test dates among teachers for a grade level. It would be great if we could plug those in.

Excellent idea. The good news is that iCal and Google Calendar integration is scheduled for development over the 2011-2012 school year.

allow for drag-and-drop arrangement of assignments
The current arrangement of assignments within my assignment block appears to be random. They are not sorted by creation date or due date. I would like to be able to drag & drop them into a particular order.

This makes sense, and the increasing popularity is stressing the need. We will be seriously considering this feature as a part of our enhancements for the 2011-2012 school year.

iPad / iOS App?
An iPad app to use at least some of the functionalities of Haiku would be amazing!

The Haiku LMS web app for iPad is now in beta. You can read more about it here: http://www.haikulearning.com/blog/2011/12/haiku-is-on-the-go-on-the-move-mobile/ We currently support many features in read-only mode, but will start releasing content creation features in the next few weeks. 1/04/2011 – Bryan Falcón

Allow publish and unpublish of page blocks
Allow for individual blocks to be visible/invisible or published/unpublished as necessary so that content can be presented by teacher when necessary but all content can be created at one time.

add a way to accept payment for classes
I would like to be able to offer courses that require payment up front via credit card. Upon payment, I would like the user to be automatically added to my class roster.

Add a tool to comment on assignments for clarification or help
Under the assignment have a box where the students can ask private or public questions. For example a teacher would post an assignment to write an essay, and the student could choose to comment on it, publicly or privately, and ask questions. He could say "What is the subject" or "When is it due" and the teacher could respond.

I really like this idea. This either could be a block-level comment tool (like the pages comment tool that exists now), or simple link to the Inbox (and possibly forwarded to the email) of the user. We’ll keep this in mind as we refine Haiku LMS, and I encourage others interested in this to lend their votes to the cause.

WikiProjects Templates
The newly created WikiProjects looks like a very useful tool for our school. It would even more useful if the teacher could create templates for WikiProjects. Each student would select the template and then fill in the required information.
For us the end goal is to use WIkiProjects for journalling. Each week the students would answer specific questions (which would be in the template).
I can also think of many other uses for having templates with wikiprojects. Basically the teacher could set up a "skeleton" wiki which each student needs to populate with data. This would help to keep each… more

Agreed. We recognize the need and plan to roll out the ability for teachers to define a template (page and block structure) for students as a seed for a WikiProject.

add Student Profiles (Show and Share)
Students can set up informational pages about themselves including photos, files, video and audio. They can flag some files to be part of their show and share, one or more resources that are featured with their identity on the website. Possible additional features would allow for the inclusion of del.ico.us data, or other information from social networking sites.
